It's going to be a busy week.

What a weekend!
On Friday I met with an American girl named Tiffany who was referred to me by a French agent about a month ago.
We had heard of one another for quite some time and finally met for a coffee in the afternoon to talk about the upcoming photo shoot we have this Thursday.
I have finally found my stylist!!! And she is from Indiana.
SMALL WORLD
Our coffee appointment ended up turning into several hours and even more drinks later at Au Reve...aka Cheers.
She met the whole gang. It was quite a treat.
We chatted with some French guys about our favorite words in French.

I mentioned my favorite word was aujourd'huiwhich means today.

The guy quickly responded, "but that's today, what about tomorrow?"

Oh, I love a sharp sense of humor.

Higgins met a few new friends that day.

and saw his biggest fan, Pierre Francois.

A lot of people walk their dogs without a leash in Paris but Higgins is not used to that. And I am afraid he would get hurt so the leash stays on.
One night at Au Reve someone unleashed him without me knowing and 5 minutes later I was like
"Where's Higgins?"

I found him in the kitchen hanging with the cooks.

Sunday was quite chill with an afternoon walk in the hood.
I came across these beautiful flowers..just in time for Mother's Day.
Some Frenchie told me they were dangerous for cats.
Of course he did because the French idolize cats in every single way possible.

And this random sighting in a phone booth. I have no idea what it was for but it sure was cute.

Now I am about to have my afternoon coffee and a big scoop of Nutella.
And back to work. It's going to be a busy week.

Oh, and I found an apartment in the neighborhood!!!!
You can drag a horse to the airport, but this horse won't be on that plane to NY.

a bientot

Enough said.

Reasons why I have not blogged

1. The last two days have been so busy with work I have had no time.
Thank you work!!!!   It's a great thing.

2. I have 10 days to find a new apartment or room because I am extending my stay. I had some leads fall through and also new leads appearing daily. Ughh...apartment gods, please help!
And people wonder why I look tired all the time. But I still feel good.

3.  I have been too distraught to blog because I usually do this with the help of an almond croissant. And no almond for the last two days. I found out the almond croissants are the croissants from the day before that are re-stuffed with deliciousness and covered in powder sugar.
My replacements included one pastry that was way to big and filled with cream. Of course, I ate the entire thing and didn't feel the need to eat for the rest of the day. And one raisin pastry that was a major fail. Hopefully tomorrow will yield better results.

4. I have been reaching out to all my contacts about stylists for a photo shoot and one fell out the sky two days ago. I have a coffee meeting with her today...finally! And then another meeting about an apartment.

On that note, I need to go...I have to work, keep looking for an apartment, and organize my future in general.

I would like to post something a friend sent to me that keeps my mood elevated these last few days when I start feeling stressed.

Thank you, Junga!

Higgins and Company

Higgins is very popular at Au Reve...aka Cheers

I'm €20 Richer!

Well, it has been quite an interesting day so far.
I woke up this morning thinking about the photo shoot I want to do in the neighborhood. But I want the newest camera, I need a stylist, and have not heard back from the hair and make-up people.
I was feeling frustrated.
So I got myself up and took Higgins on a walk. The weather is beautiful again and the mornings are my favorite because there are not many people around.

I walked up and down the hills as usual so I wouldn't feel guilty about my croissant which would follow.
(Yes, it was delicious!!!)

I mean, look how beautiful this neighborhood is.

When the sun is rising it's breathtaking.

I also got a wake up call when I turned the corner to see this:

Yeah, that's someone's house. Why am I am complaining about clothes for a photo shoot? Seriously.

Ok, keep walking.

The flowers here are amazing....and I can't believe I used to dislike flowers...that definitely must have been during my teenage angst years when I wore all black (from Banana Republic) and listened to Depeche Mode.
My poser goth days.
;)

Higgins and I eventually passed by Au Reve..(Cheers) and had a coffee with Pierre François. Super sweet man and nice to have a chat in Frenglish since I really didn't talk to anybody yesterday.

He read my horoscope and told me I was focusing too much on what I did not have in my work instead of what I already have. And that big work related events are around the corner and to stay positive.

Was that weird or what?
Honestly, nothing really surprises me anymore..but I found this quite inspiring.

So I headed home to start working on my photo shoot, with or without the help of everyone else, and I found 20 EURO on the sidewalk.

This means, tonight it's wine time again at Au Reve.

I need to keep it moving.

Working on my photography
 Speaking French
Making Friends
Living my dream.

One glass at a time.

OMG
Just got an email from an agency of hair, make-up artists, and stylists. They want to shoot.

Il pleut...it's raining!

Good thing I did not have my fatty almond croissant this morning because it is raining today and feels like fall. So my plan for an afternoon walk is off.
It's okay though because the weather has been so nice here everyday that the rain is quite relaxing.

Here is what Higgins looked like after our short walk this morning....too cute. His hair gets all curly.

A little wet but he's still happy. What is his secret? I want to know!

Got a text message from one of my French friends this morning about Osama bin Laden. Surreal to say the least!
What a bitter sweet moment.

I feel a bit trapped inside my apartment and tried of working so will probably study French some more.

I have spent the day looking for a stylist inPparis and it is not easy. If anyone happens to know anyone, let me know.

;)

More later.

Today was a good weekend for une petite voiture.

This was outside of au Rêve Friday night...aka Cheers...and I was lucky enough to get behind the wheel.

Saturday was nothing to write about. The weekends are the hardest here because I don't have very many "good" friends yet.

So Saturday I stayed in and watched 2 French movies on Netflix. I really hope the language is seeping into my brain. I can't tell.

Today Higgins and I took a walk and found an erie yet beautiful cemetery.

And then, more small cars.

What do to for the rest of the day? I'm tired of walking.
