But mine wears a beret.
Today I woke up late again. Urgh....almost passed the jet-lag but not yet. I rushed to get ready and went to the Paris affiliate of my NY company. I was nervous but was received will a warm welcome and promptly introduced to everyone at the company. While taking a tour of the office, I was offered a large or small coffee. Since Americans are known to overindulge and supersize everything, I decided to throw them a curveball and requested the small.
This weekend I was invited to have drinks with one of my Parisian co-workers, her bf, and her bf's sister...who she referred to as her "step-sister"...too hard to explain that was not the correct term. ;)
After leaving the office, I got lost again and ended up by the arch that is the bigger version of the arch in Washington Square Park...yes, that's right...I have no idea what it is called. It's only my 5th day, right?
Regardless, I had a nice stroll and eventually returned to my neighborhood to walk Higgins. I was approached by a friendly man who inquired in French if Higgins was a cat. I told him, "he can be whoever you want him to be." .....he laughed.
Chat noir? Non! Chien Noir
At 3pm, I met with the cousin of my NY French teacher who conveniently lives down the street and we practiced French over coffee and tea. I know now how to order a proper cup of Americano so I don't keep getting espressos.
What will my evening walk uncover?
Stay tuned.
Monsier Higgins is looking very Parisian in his new styles.
ReplyDeleteFYI, most dog owner in Paris don't clean up after their dogs so don't learn that bad habit!
Go Judith! This is all so very exciting. Keep writing.
