WOW!
That was a really fun weekend.
I took Higgins for a walk on Friday through the hills of Montmartre. It was a little chilly that afternoon so he was wearing his American Apparel t-shirt. Strange thing is, dogs will wear scarves here but I get strange looks from my dog in a t-shirt. lol
Anyway, as I was walking past a cafe two guys smiled and laughed at Higgins. I was absorbed with Seal on my ipod but smiled and strolled on by.
I found my favorite house in the neighborhood during this walk....with a couple of musicians playing jazz on the corner near by.
Paris is truly a magical place.
See that hill...it only keeps going up and up...so I keep walking and the pastries keep on coming.
An hour later into my walk, I saw the same guys at a cafe near my apartment and they invited me to join them and their friends for a coffee. The place is called Au Reve...which means "a dream"...I met two very sweet French girls and another guy from Barcelona, and several Frenchies from the neighborhood. This is great for my French language. I am beginning to understand what people are saying but not quite ready to talk back...I am getting there.
The next day I went back to Au Reve and saw all the regulars again...this is when they told me I was officially a regular as well. This made me smile as this cafe always intrigued me from the first day I arrived..but it's always full..and small...and you could tell everyone was friends..it's like Cheers. But now I am one of those people... and everyone knows my name.
Sunday, I was invited to a birthday party with my American friend Ned and his girlfriend Shelly a.k.a Shelby on the other side of Paris. A really sweet couple with an amazing corner apartment overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
My camera battery was dead at this point so I had to keep that moment for myself. I met a lot of other people from all over the world and ate delicious Peruvian food and birthday cake.
Now back to work contacting anyone and everyone in Paris. Two appointments so far this week but looking for more.
More later..I will try not to go off the radar again for too long but sometimes you need to talk to people in person and not on the internet.
À bientôt..See you soon
Yay!! Sounds like a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose musicians make it look like it's summertime, though!
