This morning I had an appointment at French Elle...I was very nervous the night before but managed to sleep okay.
My contact said said she had two things to say after she saw my book:
1. It's beautiful but too commercial....too much advertising (I took that as a compliment even though I knew what she meant...bring on the advertising!) but show more editorial....
2. Elle doesn't do much beauty anymore...they have more articles for the reader with pictures of celebrities...damn you Brangelina...which I did notice when I picked up a recent copy.
She suggested I shoot with natural light outdoors and gave me a contact for a hair and make-up agency. This actually made me happy to hear I should shoot with natural light because I don't have any of my studio lights in Paris.
The sun=problem solved.
(i did not take this picture ;))
She also suggested my book would get me work with the make-up ads (the French make-up companies)they have on display in the pharmacies/beauty shops...like a Duane Reade/CVS...so I am going to find out who shoots those and give them a call.
But first it's time for my daily almond croissant...omg
-----Please stand by----
Okay, croissant was delicious as usual and tomorrow at 3pm I have an appointment at the hair and make-up agency.
;)
